How long does it take to complete background check?

I just got a fulltime job at Disneyland. I completed paper work and got a hiring package. For two weeks ago, I signed the form which was about consumer report. Now, they asked me where I lived for past 7 years for background check.
Why do they conduct a background check after they offer a job?
Or does it mean that I passed the background check so I got a job?

  1. They are doing a backround check on you probably to ensure you’re not a child molestor. Don’t worry, they don’t take long (unless you have a shady past).
